      Bequests

Recently, Salvation Army officers met with "Susan" to thank her for her planned gift of a Will Bequest. Here is what she shared.

Officer: "Susan, why did you decide to let us know about the estate planning arrangements you have made for The Salvation Army?"

Susan: "There were a couple of reasons. First, I needed advice about the words to use to help the people I want to help. I want to help needy people - those who have suffered life's financial turmoil - who are in and around the Columbia, Missouri area. The Salvation Army helps people all over the world, but I want to focus my gift locally. Second, I think the officers and volunteers for the Army ought to know that their work is important to people like me."

Officer: "Why did you choose The Salvation Army for your gift?"

Susan: "My family became familiar with the Army when I was a little girl growing up in Chicago. I have never forgotten the officer that came to our house each week, how much she cared about rescuing those that were down-and -out. I think the officers are the same today and I want to help them help others."
