      Bequests

Background: Jane and John have volunteered for The Salvation Army (TSA) in Kirksville, Missouri for years. They noticed the dedication and compassion of TSA officers and decided to help financially. They want that kind of work to go on in Kirksville after their lives have come to an end. The current value of their bequest qualifies them for membership in The Triumph Circle of the Salvation Army Light Brigade

We asked them this question: Jane and John, you have included The Salvation Army in your estate plans, right?
They responded: "Yes, the Army in Kirksville is the main beneficiary of our will and it specifies Kirksville to spend as needed for building or whatever...we didn't want to put a bunch of restrictions on them as we both feel that the Army will not waste the money."

We asked again: May we tell others about your plans?
They responded: "We didn't do this for recognition, we just wanted it to go somewhere where we knew it would help lots of people and do the most good. We have always been so impressed with the way The Salvation Army takes care of business without wasting a bunch on unnecessary frills."
You also may want to make it easy and convenient to have a bequest included in your will. The language below shows how a bequest can very easily be included in your will.
